Because TV shows are trying more and more to entice us with something extra, let’s have a look at to rather new series that we should keep an eye out for this cold season.
The fantasy genre meets the modern sci-fi style on a duel for the right to have the most viewers.
Nothing new here for the fans of the genre. Vampires, werewolves, witches and a more enticing feud between the impossible to kill Klaus and his prodigy Marcel for the supremacy over the long touted vampire paradise – New Orleans.
However…for those in love with The Vampire Diaries this side storyline is surely something interesting to follow. We are looking at a supernatural baby, the offspring of Klaus and Haley, but also at the original family drama with Elijah trying to keep the siblings in line, a conflicted Rebekah and wilder than ever Klaus.
If you are fond of the drama but also of “bloody meets cynical” scenes, you should keep an eye out for this one. Surely, those against such “trivial” shows would say that it is not worth it but for the fans of the genre this is a find.
Did you miss the mutants and their superpowers? Then you will like this one. Basically the TV show is all about evolution, a mutation in the human DNA able to transform the regular homo sapiens in homo superior adding teleportation, telepathy and telekinesis to the regular human abilities.
The intrigue is not exactly new considering that this is a remake of a British TV show from the 70’s but the US interpretation is surely something to look for. Stephen is the son of a man with strange abilities translated by the modern medicine in schizophrenia. Afraid he inherits his father’s madness the young man takes drugs which cannot contain his teleportation skills.
He is contacted telepathically by Cara, another person with special powers who together with John introduce Stephen to a side world were people endowed with the three special powers try to survive a crusade started against them by none other than Stephen’s uncle Jed.
The truth is this show has a kind of appeal considering how amazing is the concept of human evolution.
For the fans of the supernatural, this weird meets cool thriller called Sleepy Hollow is the perfect choice. What can be more weird than a former soldier in the Independence War coming back to life in modern times to fight the Headless Horseman…in this case none other than Death – one of the riders of Apocalypse.
Add to this the fact that Bible implications, demons and a witch complicated the things for a young female deputy and you will have a cool partnership between her and the above described weird individual.
Things seem to evolve around the end of days and it seems it’s up to Ichabod Crane and Lieutenant Mills to stop the Apocalypse’s debut in Sleepy Hollow.
We must say that this particular approach to the legendary motif of the headless horseman is rather unusual but nevertheless enticing enough to watch.
